Former Real Madrid midfielder Clarence Seedorf is the latest name to be linked with a move to Real Madrid as Santiago Solari’s tenure as coach appears to be coming to an end.

According to reports by the AS, Seedorf, who is the current coach of Cameroon was in Madrid last week and attended an official board of directors’ dinner in the Spanish capital.

It is during the meeting that the Dutchman had the opportunity to chat with club president Florentino Perez and was added to the board’s list of possible candidates to take charge on an interim basis until the end of the season.

Seedorf, 42, played for Los Blancos from 1996 to 1999 and is said to be valued by the board because of his leadership skills, his charisma and the great reputation he holds among Madrid fans.

Other notable names who have been linked with the position include former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and current Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.
