BREAKING: Baxter names Bafana squad to face Libya in AFCON do or die

South Africa's coach Stuart Baxter has named the Bafana Bafana squad to face Libya in a crunch 2019 AFCON qualifier in Tunisia.

The British coach revealed the squad at a media briefing held at SAFA house this morning, 12 days ahead of the huge game.

The biggest surpise call is Dutch-based striker, Lars Veldwijk,  who returns since a horror debut in 2016 against Mozambique. The 25-year-old 1,96 meters tall striker currently has 17 goals and five assists for Sparta Rotterdam in the Dutch second tire.

Bafana's full squad:

Goalkeepers:

Darren Keet (Bidvest Wits), Ronwen Williams (SuperSport United), Bruce Bvuma (Kaizer Chiefs)

Defenders:

Daniel Cardoso (Kaizer Chiefs), Rivaldo Coetzee (Sundowns), Aubrey Modiba (SS Utd), Thulani Hlatshwayo, Buhle Mkhwanazi, Sfiso Hlanti (Wits), Innocent Maela (Orlando Pirates), Thamsanqa Mkhize (CT City).

Midfielders:

Bongani Zungu (Amiens), Hlompho Kekana, Themba Zwane, Tiyani Mabunda (Sundowns), Dean Furman (SS Utd), Kamohelo Mokotjo (Brentford), Thulani Serero (Vitesse FC), Thembinkosi Lorch (Pirates).

Strikers:

Lebo Mothiba (Strasbourg), Percy Tau (Royal Union Saint), Lars Veldwijk (Sparta Rotterdam), Lebogang Maboe (Sundowns), Keagan Dolly (Montpellier).

A point for the South Africans will seal a place at the 2019 AFCON event, while maximum points will do for Libya.
