Mourinho reveals Messi and Ronaldo playing together is a blessing in disguise
Ronaldo single-handedly sent Juventus to the Champions League quarter-finals with his hat-trick that equaled Messi's record of eight. Messi responded with a spectacular performance against Olympique Lyon, scoring two goals and setting up two. The two share 10 Ballon d.Or's between them with Luka Modric breaking their 10-year dominance in the gong last year.
Speaking on his RT show ‘On the Touchline’, Mourinho revealed that the two playing together is both a blessing and a curse, "I think they are lucky and they are unlucky to be in the same generation. They are lucky because they can compete against each other, they are lucky because they look to each other, in a positive way, they get extra motivation with the things they do, the number of hat-tricks, the number of champions, the number of gold boots…They are unlucky because if there is only one of them, they would have like 10 golden balls, golden boots."
