18 Mar 2019, 20:05

Austin Muwowo scored a brace and set up another as Forest Rangers beat Power dynamos to go second in stream B.

Power dynamos came into this game looking get back to the summit while Forest were hoping to make it three wins in a row. Forest started strong controlling play and took the lead seven minutes into the match, Zikiru Adams getting on the end of a Douglas Muwowo pass to finish off with easy.

Six Minutes later Austin Muwowo doubled the lead with a fine finish from close range. Things kept moving from bad to worse for Power dynamos after the hosts were awarded a penalty for a hand inside the area. Muwowo stepped up and made it three nil with his second of the game in the 16th minute. Patrick Ilongo headed home a Muwowo corner to add more day light between the two teams.

Coach Kelvin Kaindu made two changes in the first half removing Faustin Bakodila and Elvis Rupia and replacing them with John Soko and Kennedy Mudenda respectively. Zikiru had a chance to increase the lead but his shot went wide off the mark with only the keeper to beat.

Austin Muwowo nearly scored from a corner and from close range but both times hit woodwork. The match went to the break with Forest Rangers leading 4-0.

In the second stanza Power dynamos came back a more organised side and started to threaten. Captain of the side Larry Bwalya took things personal and went on a solo run beating three defenders before finishing off nicely from close range to pull one back.

Zimbabwean defender Jimmy Dzingai headed home a free kick two minutes later to further reduce the deficit but it was a little too late as Forest collected all three points.
