Enyimba coach Abd’Allah says playoffs are more important than top spot

The head coach of Enyimba FC Usman Abd’Allah has revealed that qualifying for a play-offs place is more important than gunning for the league summit.

Abd’Allah shared his priorities after leading his side to a home goalless draw against Bendel Insurance on Sunday.

“Going to the top of the table will motivate the team and will show the good work that the players are doing,” he told the Independent.

“But as I’ve said, the most important thing is to qualify for the playoffs. At this moment, finishing as the top is a morale booster, but is secondary,” concluded Abd’Allah.

The People’s Elephant is now placed third with two points behind leaders MFM FC, with the next game coming against Kwara United on Saturday in Aba.
