NPFL: Plateau United issue one-match ultimatum to coaches

Management of Plateau United Football Club of Jos has given a one match ultimatum to Team Manager Abel Iliya, Chief Coach Audu Isa Pele, as well as other assistant coaches.

A statement signed by its Media Officer, Albert Dakup explained that if Plateau United fail to win the next NPFL home game against Akwa United, members of the club’s technical crew would lose their jobs.

Similarly, four players have been placed on transfer market due to poor performance, while warning letters have been issued to others to sit up or face the exit door.

General Manager of the Club, Pius Henwan said the marching order became necessary in order to save the team from relegation.

“The 10th position presently occupied by the club in the group B league table of the NPFL is not acceptable to the management and the government of Plateau State who are the sole financiers of the team.

“The General Manager regretted that despite government unalloyed support to the team by the prompt payment of their salaries, match bonus and other allowances, the team has failed to reciprocate that gesture by posting good results this season,” the statement said.
