Zanaco CEO Marlon Kananda felt the Zanaco defence let the team down following their 4-2 loss at the hands of Nakambala Leopards away in Mazabuka on Saturday.
Kananda refused to blame the loss on the poor state of the Nakambala Stadium but instead admitted that Zanaco did not play well.
"I don't think we played well as Zanaco looking at how the team played against Zesco United. We were below par, The defence let us down. We need to work on the defence , We have concerns on the defence," Kananda said.
"Zanaco is a big team , I don't expect us to be affected by the pitch because this is not the first time we are playing at Nakambala Stadium so I would not bring in the pitch. We know this pitch we have used it before so that was not our biggest problem we did not just play well," He added.
A brace from Simon Mulenga and goals from Felix Bulaya and Junior Zulu helped the sugar boys to a hard fought 4-2 win at home to end a two game losing streak.
