Man United chairman pledging to use club’s financial strength to help Solskjaer

Club CEO Ed Woodward is pledging to use Manchester United’s financial strength to help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer build the team ahead of the new season.

United finished sixth in the Premier League and Solskjaer is keen to reinforce the squad ahead of the new campaign. As the Red Devils released their Third Quarter Results, Woodward revealed he is keen to help United boss rebuild a strong team to challenge for the title.

“Underlying strength of our business will allow us to support the manager and his team as we look to the future,” he said.

The statement also hints that the preparations for the new season are well underway and Woodward adds that “everyone at Manchester United is focussed upon building towards the success that this great club expects and our fans deserve.”

The club’sThird Quarter Revenues have gone up by 3.4% to £152.1m with a 94% rise in operating profits to £14.2m. United’s debt has remained pretty static at £301.7m a rise of £0.4m over the year.
