ZSL Review: Kambole braces Zesco to CAF CL as Arrows end Warriors unbeaten run

Lazarus Kambole scored a brace to send Zesco United to the summit of the log as they won Stream A with a three nil thumping of Kitwe United. Paul Katema scored the only goal of the game as Red Arrows edged Kabwe Warriors to end their 17 game unbeaten run.

Zesco United 3-0 Kitwe United

Zesco United came into the match needing a win to secure continental football. Hosting relegation threatened Kitwe United the Ndola giants knew a win was not going to come easy.

The hosts started strong and were one nil up just three minutes into the match John Ching'andu with the goal. Lazarus Kambole doubled the lead in the 25th minute as the hosts took charge of the match.

Kambole added a third in the 68th minute to seal a three nil win and take Zesco United to the Summit of Stream A on goal difference to qualify for ABSA Cup and CAF Champions League.

Zanaco 2-1 Prison Leopards

Zanaco started the match like a house on fire and took an early lead in the 2nd minute , Chitiya Mususu with the goal. Prison Leopards replied almost immediately with a goal of their own levelling matters in the 8th minute Terry Mwashi with the goal.

Prison Leopards nearly took the lead five minutes later but Patrick Kasongo's goal was disallowed after he handled before beating Nsabata.

Defender Kelvin Owusu finished off a Tafadzwa Rusike free kick to put Zanaco back in the league in the 72nd minute. The hosts held on to win the match 2-1.

Kabwe Warriors 0-1 Red Arrows

A Paul Katema 29th minute strike was all that Red Arrows needed to secure maximum points and end Kabwe Warriors 17 match unbeaten run.

Nakambala Leopards 1-1 Lusaka dynamos

Lusaka dynamos winded up their season with a draw away in Mazabuka playing to a 1-1 result with Nakambala Leopards. Tardile Illunga put Elite in the lead before Simon Mulenga could equalise in the second half.

Green Buffaloes played to a goalless draw with Mighty Mufulira Wanderers to make sure they stay in the Super league meaning Prison Leopards and Kitwe United drop to the National Division One.
