NPFL Showdown: Final day battle for playoff, relegation escape

The Nigeria Professional Football League promises a photo finish on Sunday as some teams will aim to pick playoff tickets, while some other make a final move to avoid relegation.

Akwa United, Kano Pillars and Enugu Rangers are already through to the Super Six playoffs while Yobe Deserts Stars, Remo Stars and Niger Tornadoes have been confirmed relegated.

Those who still has their destinies in their hands or hanging on hope are Wikki Tourists, who needs a win to avoid relegation when they host Enugu Rangers in Bauchi.

Rivers United vs Bendel Insurance is the most dicey game of the final day - Anyone who picks the highest point will remain while the other will likely relegate provided that Sunshine Stars beat MFM FC in Akure.

MFM FC can only qualify for the playoff with a win and hope that Enyimba and Lobi Stars lose against Katsina United and Remo Stars respectively.

Go Round needs to score four goals in other to be safe but it still depends on Plateau United’s result against Delta Force. The 2017 NPFL Champions just need a draw in Asaba.

Abia Warriors at home needs to beat Kano Pillars to stay clear of relegation.

Heartland vs El-kanemi Warriors might be tricky too, Heartland needs a win to survive the drop, while a loss for El-kanemi Warriors could see them relegate if Plateau United manage to get a point in Asaba.
