Striker Dayo Ojo was the hero of the Nigeria Professional Football League final day clash between Sunshine Stars and MFM FC.
Host Sunshine Stars were the eventual winners in Akure as they dashed MFM's hope of qualifying for the Super Six.
Dayo Ojo began his three-goal journey in the 18th minute when he converted from the penalty spot.
He again scored from the spot seven minutes later to increase Sunshine Stars' tally.
Alade Balogun reduced the deficit for MFM in the 31st minute but Anthony Omaka restored Sunshine's two-goal lead just before the break after latching onto a rebound from his first attempt.
After the restart, Akuneto Chijioke fired in shot for MFM FC from a deflected effort from Akanni Elijah and that reduced the deficit.
However, Dayo Ojo rose up to the challenge to complete his hat-trick in the 90th minute, and ensure Sunshine Stars escape relegation.
