After a barren draw in the first half, Chelsea mounted a strong finish to the game handing Arsenal a 4-1 defeat with Eden Hazard revealing what Maurizio Sarri told them at half time.

Chelsea resumed the second half firing from all cylinders and took the lead in the 49th minute through Olivier Giroud, scoring three goals in the space of 17 minutes through Pedro and Hazard before the Belgian tucked home a penalty in the 72nd minute. Alex Iwobi scored a consolation goal for Arsenal who missed out on the trophy and a place in the Champions League next season.

Speaking in a press conference after the win over Arsenal, Hazard revealed Sarri's half time team talk, "[He told us] just to keep playing, to play our football, like what we did in the second half. We know we are good players when we fight and play together. Today we showed that, for the fans, the manager and the staff. We're just happy to lift this trophy.

"The first half both teams had stress because of the final. But when we score I think it was the beginning of a great night. We played a good second half and we had chances at the end."
