Khaled Galal has been appointed as the new Zamalek head coach and is expected to take over from Christian Gross, whose contract with the club has ended.
Club President Mortada Mansour revealed on Friday that Gross will not continue with the Whites, and will have the former manager taking the reigns.
His appointment takes effect immediately and he is expected to lead the team from as early as next week on Monday when they take on Haras El-Hodood in the Egyptian Premier League.
“Khaled Galal is the club’s new manager,” Mansour told El-Mehwar TV channel.
“I spoke with him before the Entag game and he will have the right to name the rest of the technical staff,” he added.
At the same time, Mansour lashed out at the outgoing Swedish manager, saying he has been 'stubborn and a failure'.
“Gross is a failure, unjust and a stubborn manager. It’s over he has left the club. We decided not to extend his contract,” Mansour added.
This will be the Galal's second stint at the club, having led the Whites to the 2018 Egypt Cup title over Smouha, before leaving with Gross taking his place.
