Manchester United have completed their first signing of the summer, after capturing the signature of Ajax wonderkid Dillon Hoogewerf.
The youngster took to his Instagram account to announce the move and has become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first summer signing.
The 16-year-old academy graduate decided against signing a professional contract with the Dutch side, opening doors for United to take him to England.
He has been one of the star players for the Amsterdam-based side, and scored 10 goals and assisted six times for the U-17 team last season.
The club was aware of his decision to leave, with Ajax's head of youth academy recently confirming that he was set on leaving.
“Dillon has indicated last week that he will leave the club. He is leaving for a foreign club. We wish him a lot of success and know that we have done everything to keep him. He may ultimately make the choice and choose a foreign adventure," he said.
United though would be keen on going back to Ajax for their star senior player in captain Matthijs De Ligt, who has been linked with a move after another fine campaign where he led his side to the Champions League semifinal.
Ole Gunnar will be making changes to his side as he prepares for the new campaign, after a dismal end to a trophyless 2018/19 season, where they finished sixth in the Premier League.
