Orlando Pirates and Zimbabwean international Nyasha Marshall Munetsi has moved to Stade de Reims.
As reported on Futaa last week, the 22-year-old’s move to Ligue 1 was as good as done a few days ago ahead of Pirates’ announcement this evening.
“Orlando Pirates Football Club can officially confirm the transfer of Marshall Munetsi to Stade de Reims,” said the club in statement.
Munetsi also offered some warm parting words with the club, adding that he appreciates the club for taking him as a boy before he became the man he is today.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank the Chairman and management for all the support they have given me ever since I arrived at the Club,” Munetsi said.
Watchout for Munetsi in Zimbabwe's midfield at AFCON 2019.
“I came here as a young boy but now I leave as a man. I would also like to thank the coaches, my teammates and most importantly the fans of this wonderful club for all the love and support they’ve shown me.”
“As I turn the page to a new chapter in my football career, I look forward to the new challenge this presents but as I move forward I can never forget my roots…Once a Pirate Always a Pirate!” concluded Munetsi.
Meanwhile, the defender-cum-midfiedler is set to represent the Warriors when Zimbabwe take on AFCON hosts Egypt on June 21.
