Aiteo Cup: Our plans worked out against Akwa United - Eguma

Rivers United coach Stanley Eguma is excited that his game plan worked in the Aiteo Cup Round 32 fixture against Akwa United on Wednesday.

Rivers United have qualified for the 2019 Aiteo Cup round of 16 after beating Akwa United 3-0 in Enugu on Wednesday.

Kehinde Adedipe, Bright Onyedikachi and Ossy Martins were the goalscorers for the 'Pride of Rivers' in the round of 32 clash decided at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

Eguma said his side were well prepared for the encounter, and the boys did not fail.

"We had our tactical plans for this game against Akwa United. I watched them in Lagos during the Super Six playoffs and studied their weaknesses with the aim of exploiting them.

"My players were prepared and this win will boost their confidence as our focus is to go as far as possible in this competition," he said.
