Zanaco head coach Numba Mumamba believes the sending off of defensive midfielder Kelvin Kapumbu in Saturdays ABSA Cup final affected his side. Kapumbu was shown a straight red card following a careless tackle on Zesco United striker Jesse Jackson Were 17 minutes into the first half.
Numba is however happy with the performance of his team despite the big 4-1 loss.
"I must say it was an exciting game, we all came to the party despite giving away the goals that we gave Zesco, otherwise the players accounted themselves well, am very happy with the performance of the team," he said.
"I think the red card also costed us, it affected us and we tried to adjust but things couldn't work out," he added.
A goal each from Jesse Jackson Were, Winston Kalengo, John Ching'andu, and Lazarus Kambole handed Zesco United a 4-1 win as they clinched the 2019 ABSA Cup maintaining their record of having never lost a final in this competition.
