Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has his mind set on getting the job done against Cameroon, despite negative whispers about his future.
The German coach, like most previous Nigerian coaches including 2013 winner Stephen Keshi, is under fire after the opening performances at AFCON level.
Chatting to the media before facing Cameroon in a last 16 battle this weekend, Rohr revealed that he has been made aware of his future irrespective of what happens in Egypt.
“I heard that from someone and I saw on social media that even if I win Afcon with my team, it will be finished for me,” Rohr told media during Friday’s pre-match conference.
“We are focused on this game [against Cameroon] and we want to win it. It is a challenge for all of us, not only for the staff or me.”
“I hope we do well here and we are ready, after the tournament we will talk about my future,” Rohr concluded. The Super Eagles clash against the Indomitable Lions gets underway at 18:00 tomorrow evening.
