Sanches set to stay

Bayern Munich head coach Niko Kovac has assured midfielder Renato Sanches that he will have playing time this season.

The Germany machines are set to undergo a huge squad overhaul with fringe players set to be released. And Sanches is believed to be among them and has been seeking a move away from Munich after publicly expressing his frustrations about lack of game time under Kovac last campaign. The Bayern boss has plans for the midfielder and is eager to keep him at Die Roten beyond this summer.

"It's just that we told him that we would like to keep him,” he said.

“We have put his arguments to the table and explained why he has played so little. He saw that and sees his future here. I'm convinced that he'll get more in this season than last season."

The Portuguese’s contract with Munich is set to expire in the summer of 2021.
