Lameck Banda's Europa league debut ends in a loss

Zambian winger Lameck Banda made his UEFA Europa League debut league for Arsenal Tula who suffered a one-nil loss at the hands of Neftçi PFC Bakı in the first leg of their second qualifying round tie.

Banda who joined the Russian Premier League side recently was named in the starting line up on the right-wing. Banda put in a decent 45-minute shift before being replaced by Bulgarian midfielder Georgi Kostadinov.

Dario da Silva's first-half strike proved to be the decider as the Azerbaijan side carried the day 1-0 to carry the advantage into the second leg to be played at their home ground in seven days time.

Striker Evans Kangwa and midfielder Klings Kangwa were not part of the matchday squad. Tula takes on Rostov in a league match on Sunday before facing Neftçi on Thursday.
