Jabu Pule on why he'd advise McCarthy to reject Bafana offer

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates man Jabu ‘Pule’ Mahlangu says Benni McCarthy should not accept Bafana Bafana job if offered.

McCarthy is among the tipped candidates to succeed Stuart Baxter as Bafana Bafana’s coach, and ‘Shuffle’ hopes the Cape Town City coach doesn’t become the eventually chosen one.

“I have heard a lot of people talking about Benni McCarthy to coach Bafana and it appears he wants the job‚" Mahlangu said to Times Live.

Mahlangu continued to say that the former Bafana striker, who will only mark the third season of his coaching career, is simply still too young for the national side.

"But if I was close to him‚ I would advise him to not to take the job because that responsibility could destroy him.”

"I know the good job that he has done at Cape Town City and he is definitely our coach for the future‚ but he is still a baby for Bafana.”

Other candidates for the Bafana post include the likes of Pitso Mosiane, Gavin Hunt and Steve Komphela as other names that have been suggested.

Meanwhile, SAFA are set to name Mzansi next coach at the end of this month.
