Midfielder John Obi Mikel made his debut for his new Turkish club Trabzonspor in a 2-2 draw with Sparta Prague.
The tie was a Europa League third round first leg qualifier, played on Thursday.
Mikel was in the starting lineup for Trabzonspor and got booked in the 32nd minute.
Goals from Caleb Ekuban and substitute Alexander Soerloth for the Turkish club cancelled out strikes from Costa Nhamoinesu and Guelor Kanga.
32-year-old Mikel joined Trabzonspor in the summer on a two-year deal.
He captained the Super Eagles to a third place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after which he announced his international retirement.
