Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was incessantly linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer transfer window but now insists that he is happy at Lazio.
Following the departures of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera, Milinkovic-Savic was touted as a possible replacement for the duo. A hip injury sustained in pre-season meant that those rumors went quiet for a period of time while his £80million price tag also kept United away.
In an interview with Espreso, Milinkovic-Savic finally spoke after his failed move to United, "The Premier League transfer window is shut, so the Manchester United story is finished. I wasn’t irritated by everything that was written in the papers, because my mind was concentrated on preparing for the new season in the best possible way.
"I am where I am and I want for nothing at Lazio. I don’t think much about the transfer market. All sorts of things were written about me, but I know where my mind is and who I have a contract with."
