Liverpool's keeper Adrian could miss weekend's clash

Liverpool could be without the services of Adrian when they take on Southampton over the weekend after the goalkeeper suffered a freak injury during Super Cup celebrations.

Adrian was the hero as Liverpool beat Chelsea on penalties to lift the Super Cup and was subsequently injured by a fan in the celebrations and could now miss Saturday’s trip to Southampton.

"It would help him a lot, if it were 100% clear that he can play tomorrow," said Klopp when asked about Adrian's performance.

"Because, and I really don’t understand it in the world of social media, where you are all on it, where we are all together, a supporter jumped over something, was chased by some security guys, slipped and kicked his ankle. Crazy."

‘Yesterday it was swollen, today I spoke to him, he’s here, he says it’s better, much better than yesterday, but we have to see. ‘Apart from that, yes, it was a brilliant night for him for sure. Not only because of the penalty, especially because of the match. I think he was in a penalty mood because of the game he’d played before. So that was all good, but now we have to see."
