French side Monaco have announced the signing of Leicester City striker Islam Slimani on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.
The Algerian has become surplus to requirement at the King Power Stadium, with manager Brendan Rodgers indicating he was not in his plans.
He is said to have undergone medicals in Monaco on Tuesday, with the club confirming on their social media that the 31-year-old will be joining them.
"AS Monaco are delighted to announce the arrival of forward @slimaniislam, who arrives from Leicester City on loan with a future option to buy,"
Slimani joined City for the then club-record fee of £30m from Sporting CP but has fallen down the pecking order with Rodgers leaving him out of his 25-man squad despite his contract running until 2021.
