CECAFA U15: Kenya storms into semis

The Kenya U15 team booked a semifinal slot in the ongoing CECAFA U15 Tournament after overcoming hosts Eritrea 2-1 in their last group game played on Thursday.

Kenya goals were scored by Kevin Wangaya and Ibrahim Mone with the win maintaining their unbeaten run in the tournament; an outing that has made as one of the favourites in the competition.

Apart from the Eritrea win, Kenya has registered wins against Somalia, Sudan and hosts Eritrea with their only blemish being that draw against Burundi on Tuesday.


The semifinal of the tournament against a team set to be known on Friday will be staged on August 28 with the finals slated for August 30, 2019, in Asmara.

Kenya Starting XI v Eritrea: Alvin Odari (GK), James Gachago, Isaac Mugweru, Robby Mangi, Brian Kamau, Rajab Umar, Kevin Wangaya, Andrew Odhiambo, Gil Harel, Teddy Sirma, Khamis Nyale.
