Ahead of their clash against Sheffield United, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has provided an injury update on Pedro Rodriguez, N'Golo Kante, and Antonio Rudiger.
Pedro suffered an injury in the warm-up ahead of the Norwich City clash, a situation that left only six players on the bench for Chelsea. Kante picked up a knock ahead of the 3-2 win over Norwich City and was forced to miss the game as a result while Rudiger has not featured this season since injuring his knee against Manchester United in April.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of the Sheffield clash, Lampard provided injury updates on the trio, "N’Golo Kante is not fit. It’s a continuation of his ankle problem. He won’t be traveling with the French squad either. I had a conversation with Didier Deschamps and we both agreed it was the best thing for him, so let’s try and get him fit over the break.
"Pedro is not fit. Hopefully, he should be fit the other side of the international break as well. Rudiger is going to play for the Under-23s tonight, hopefully for the final time in terms of getting proper match fitness. Then he is in serious contention to play after the break."
