The Old Firm Derby contest on Sunday lived to its billing with Celtic emerging 2-0 winners over Rangers to end their unbeaten 12 game run.
The win saw Celtic move three points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership and end their winless streak at Ibrox with the Neil Lennon side arriving in the match having lost their last two derbies.
A makeshift defence thwarted Rangers' attempts to win for the third time in four meetings with Odsonne Edouard netting his fifth goal in seven games against Rangers just after the half-hour.
Jonny Hayes made the points safe with another after a stoppage-time counter-attack. The game could not end with a moment of talk as Jordan Jones received his marching orders for a wild lunge on Moritz Bauer.
It was just a second defeat in 19 games for Steven Gerrard's side and the first time in six Old Firm games that the home side have failed to win.
For Celtic, it is a fifth consecutive league win since their loss at Ibrox in May as they attempt to win a ninth title in a row.
