The South African Football Association (SAFA) have confirmed receiving an overwhelming list of CV before appointing Molefi Ntseki as Bafana Bafana head coach.
As reported on Futaa, Ntseki was surprisingly named as Stuart Baxter’s successor last Saturday, and SAFA have now revealed that there was no shortage of applicants.
SAFA’s acting chief Russel Paul has described the application volume as many, many people that make it difficult to recall the names.
“There were many people‚ many‚ many people. That’s why I say‚ if I were to try and give you a list it would be an endless list‚” Paul told TimesLIVE.
Pressed on names‚ Paul said: “I can’t even remember the names now. So I think I would be doing an injustice if I were to name one out of 100 or 250 people.”
Paul concluded the chat by declining to answer whether Ntseki had outshone his fellow candidates in the interview, saying he was not present at the event.
“That’s a question I can’t give you an exact answer to because unfortunately in the times when the technical committee met I wasn’t part of the committee‚” said Paul.
