Norwich's Finnish finisher is flying near the top of the goal-scoring charts in the Euro 2020 qualifiers and the Premier League.
The 29-year-old is among the nominees for August's Premier League player of the month. Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne, Roberto Firmino of Liverpool and Burnley's Ashley Barnes are the other stars vying for the award alongside the Norwich man.
Five goals in four EPL appearances so far this season places him among some elite and more fashionable company. Since June 2019, Pukki has scored 10 goals in eight matches for club and country, with five goals for Norwich in that timeframe and five strikes for his country in their last four competitive clashes.
Pukki, who scored a hat-trick against Newcastle and struck Finland's winner against Greece on Thursday, has already won the PFA fans' player of the month award for August.
Aguero is this season's top scorer with six goals from his opening four games for City, with Sterling matching Pukki's five goals. He's not as glamorous a name as the Manchester City duo, but Pukki is just as effective in front of goal at the moment.
Speaking of Norwich and Manchester City, the clubs meet on Saturday when the Premier League returns after the international break.
