Following an oustanding month in August, Kenyan international Michael Olunga has been accorded with the Japanese J2 League player of the month award.
The former Gor Mahia forward bagged six goals in five games last month and helped Reysol extend their unbeaten run to 13 games. Reysol felt the head in Olunga's absence as their unbeaten run was finally halted by Montedio Yamagata while the lanky forward was on international duty with Kenya.
Olunga currently has 14 goals to his name this season in the league, registering two braces and a hat-trick so far. Reysol are currenlty top of the table and have a massive seven point advantage above Yokohama as they seek to bounce back to the J1 league at the first time of asking.
Olunga will be hoping to return to his devastating best when they next face Ventforet Kofu on Saturday 14th September.
