English Premier League joint-top scorer Tammy Abraham has refused to rule out a nationality switch to Nigeria but insists that his main focus is on Chelsea currently.
Abraham was at his devastating best when Chelsea thumped Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-5 over the weekend as he bagged his first senior hat-trick for the club. Abraham’s father is a friend of the Nigerian federation’s president, Amaju Pinnick and was not included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for their recent victories against Bulgaria and Kosovo.
The 21-year-old revealed that he is open to an international switch, "I have heard the talks but I have not really been focused on that yet. I think when the time comes, the time comes. It is about focusing on Chelsea and hopefully scoring goals and getting victories.
"We never know. You can never say never, whatever comes first really. I just have to keep full focus on Chelsea." Abraham has made two senior appearances for England in friendlies.
