Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed his admiration for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, as the two men plan to face off on Sunday in an English Premier League match.
The Stamford Bridge showdown will bring together the two Premier League giants for the second time in two months, having met in the UEFA Super Cup final.
Liverpool emerged victorious in the tie despite Chelsea being the better team by far, and they will have the chance to avenge the defeat.
Speaking ahead of the match Klopp praised the Blues manager and the project he is running, further singling out Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham for praise.
In his response, Lampard urged the youngsters to use the praise to become even better, after a blistering start to the new campaign.
"I don’t need the praise. I just respect him hugely," Lampard said in response to Klopp during his press conference.
"It was a nice thing going up against him in the Super Cup, I respect him so much. His charisma and how he works,"
"He doesn’t mess about and quite rightly has got the success he deserves. ‘I’ll take words from him as a fantastic experienced coach about our players,"
"Talking about individual players, that’s great for them. They need to use that to get even better,"
Liverpool are currently top of the English Premier League table on 15 points and are the only side with a perfect record.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have had mixed results, and are currently on eight points after two wins, two draws and a loss.
