Martyn Pert appointed as new Manchester United goalkeeping coach

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has added Martyn Pert to his coaching staff following the departure of goalkeeping coach Emilio Alvarez.

According to Training Ground Guru, Solskjaer has added the former Vancouver Whitecaps assistant to his coaching staff, after Jose Mourinho's former goalkeeping coach Emilio Alvarez who had worked with David De Gea at Atletico Madrid left the club.

A sports science specialist, Pert has picked up a wide array of experience across several roles around the globe including landing a coaching role with the Bahrain national team, Coventry City, Cardiff City and briefly with Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.

Pert also learned at the feet of Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa during a trip to Rosario in Argentina in 2016.He was assistant to former Wales international midfielder Carl Robinson in Vancouver for four years until both were sacked in October 2018.
