Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe has responded to his poor display on Monday night against Manchester United.
Pepe, who joined the north London club from Lille for a reported fee of £72million in the summer insists he will come good at Arsenal. The Ivorian created zero chances on Monday night, commiting 1 foul while losing possession 17 times in the process before he was substituted in the second half.
The 24-year-old admits he has yet to show his best since moving to North London, having managed just one goal and one assist thus far. But he has told Arsenal fans that they will soon see the best of him.
"It has not been easy, I must tell the truth. My stats have not been good enough or my usual performances, it is not the same as Lille or the Liverpool game earlier in the season," he told French radio station RMC.
"My confidence must come back. I am not very worried. People may be worried about my statistics but I am not. I have to keep working as the level here is different so is the language. It is a new league for me and I must adapt quickly. But it won’t take very long."
