Andre Ayew opens his account for Swansea City as they secure 2-1 win over Charlton Athletic

Ghana international Andre Ayew scored his debut goal in the English Championship for Swansea City as they secured a 2-1 win over Charlton Athletic on Wednesday.

Manager Steve Cooper's charges bounced back from their 1-1 stalemate to Reading on Saturday to secure three points.

Ayew hit the target six minutes after the hour-mark, to score his first goal for Swansea City since May 2016 during a Premier League fixture against Manchester City.

The Black Stars captain played the entire duration of the game as the Swans grabbed their sixth league win of the season.

The win over Charlton has put Swansea on 21 points from 10 matches played - they are set to host Stoke City on October 5.
