Chemelil Sugar FC are waiting for financial clearance from the management in order to honor Kenyan Premier League match against Bandari, says assistant coach Charles Odero.
Chemelil is set to travel to Mombasa to take on Bandari on Saturday 18th but the club is facing financial constraints. Speaking to Futaa.com Odero revealed the team is yet to set off to Mombasa as they continue to wait for financial clearance from the management. Earlier reports had indicated that the Millers will hand a walkover against the Dockers but Odera has dismissed the speculations adding that the club is ready to honor the match having trained for the entire week.
"We are waiting to get a report from the management on the way forward so that we see if we can travel to Mombasa," he told Futaa.
"The boys have been training for the entire week and we are ready to travel. We've no plans to walk away from the match," he added.
The Kenyan Premier League has been affected financially since the main sponsor Sportpesa pulled out of sponsoring all sports-related activities in the country after a prolonged battle with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) over taxes.
