Real Madrid are reportedly in advanced negotiation talks with Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz ahead of a possible move in the January transfer window, according to Sports Mole.
Ruiz who was signed from Real Betis in 2018 has allegedly been linked with big moves to Madrid and Barcelona respectively after putting on some impressive performances in the Serie A.
Madrid are believed to be monitoring the Spain international as they look to strike a deal that could potentially replace Luka Modric who is set to leave in January.
According to ESPN, Madrid reportedly met with Ruiz back in October and the La Liga outfit are believed to be confident that they can overtake Barcelona and acquire his services.
However, if the Los Blancos are to bring Ruiz to the Bernabeu they would have to cough up between £69m and £86m as it believed that there is no release clause in his current contract with Napoli.
Attacking midfielder Ruiz has a goal and two assists from nine starts in Serie A this season.
