Harambee Stars Abroad: Goal for Olunga in Kashiwa win as Eric Johanna's Bromma is relegated

Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga scored a goal in Kashiwa Reysol 3-0 win over Kagoshima United on Saturday to consolidate his team’s position at the top of the Japanese J2 League.

The goal saw Olunga’s goal tally rise to 18, nine behind the league’s top scorer Leonardo of Albirex; the striker hoping that he can win the top scorers gong before the end of the season as his team seek to bounce back straight to the Japanese top flight.

Oster and Frej will square it out in the Relegation Play-Off as Mjallby and Varberg gained promotion to the top flight.

In Georgia, midfielder Amos Nondi amassed the full minutes as FC Dila picked a point away from home in their 1-1 draw against Torpedo Kutaisi. In the same league, John Macharia managed 63 minutes as Guria fell to Zugdidi.

Heartbreak for Johanna

It was another heartbreak for Stars midfielder Eric Johanna as his IF Bromma were relegated from the Superettan (Swedish second tier)

Bromma who had been relegated from the Swedish top-flight last season finished in the 15th position with 28 points after 30 games and will now join the Swedish Division One together with Syrianska who managed 25 points.

Midfielder Johanna Omollo was once again on the bench as Cercle Brugge registered a 2-1 win over Sint in the Belgian top-flight league on Saturday.

The trio of Joseph Okumu, Eric Ouma and Ayub Timbe were not in action over the weekend.
