Frank Lampard speaks on Chelsea handing a new contract to Willian

After captaining Chelsea in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, Frank Lampard has revealed he wants Willian to sign a new Chelsea contract.

Willian was appointed captain after Cesar Azpilicueta was dropped to the substitutes bench and Jorginho suspended for last weekend's clash.

The Brazilian provided an assist in the game as Chelsea registered their six consecutive win in the English Premier League.

With Willian's contract running out at the end of the season, Lampard insisted that he wants the 31-year-old to sign a new deal, "The word isn't 'no brainer' because I can’t get involved in the money. That’s up to the club to do.

"But everyone sees how much I’m relying on him, and picking him and in what he is producing, I love him at this football club. So there’s my answer.

"I know his qualities from playing with him but when I looked at Willy over the last couple of years, he was in and out of the team."
