NPFL matchday 3 roundup: Pillars suffer home defeat, MFM wins again

Matchday three fixtures of the Nigeria Professional Football League were decided on Sunday with mouthwatering results.

Top in the news is Kano Pillars suffering a 1-0 defeat to Lobi Stars in one of the big matches of the day.

The result takes Lobi Stars to 5th place on the table with six points from three matches.

Lagos club MFM FC recorded their second away victory of the season when the pip Enugu Rangers 1-0 at the Cathedral.

MFM had beaten Heartland by the same score in Owerri to record their first away victory. The Olukoya Boys now sit on the 4th spot with seven points from three matches.

Plateau United continued their 100 per cent record by beating Wikki Tourists 2-1 to maintain their number one place on the league table.

Newcomer Delta Force recorded the biggest score after humiliating Jigawa Golden Stars 4-1 in Asaba.

Enyimba also scored big in Aba, beating Akwa United 3-1 to claim the second spot on the table by goal difference, as FC Ifeanyi Ubah did well to hold on to a 1-0 result against Rivers United.
