Manchester United will be up against league newbies Sheffield United when the Premier League resumes this weekend with the club informing their fans of the condition of the players.
A chunk of United players was involved for their respective national teams in the International window but there are players who have hinted they are about to make a comeback to the team after being sidelined by injuries.
One of the players hoping to get back to action soon is defender Axel Tuanzebe who has hinted he is making progress after being sidelined with a hip injury in October.
Midfielder Scott McTominay is a doubt for the trip to South Yorkshire after he was replaced with an ankle injury during United’s last outing against Brighton & Hove Albion. The problem forced the 22-year-old to miss Scotland’s doubleheader against Cyprus and Kazakhstan over the recent international break.
The availability of defender Luke Shaw and midfielder Nemanja Matic is not yet known with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expected to give an update on the injured players in his Friday press briefing.
For Sheffield United, in-form keeper Dean Henderson is ineligible to feature against his parent club, meaning manager Chris Wilder will have to choose between Simon Moore and Michael Verrips to fill the void created by the on-loan Red.
