Football Kenya Federation has not sent a team to the inaugural CECAFA U17 Women Championship that is set for Uganda from December 9th to 18th.
The ladies team has been in the cold for some time and has been ignored in a past after the federation failed to form a team in one qualifier claiming that the players who were to represent the country were committed with their exams in school.
Questions is expected to be raised with the Federation having managed to present a team in the senior categories of the tournament where Harambee Starlets are in the final where they are slated to take on Tanzania in the CECAFA Senior Women Championship.
Harambee Stars too will be in Uganda earlier next month where they have been pooled alongside Tanzania, Djibouti and Zanzibar.
In the tournament, hosts Uganda is in group A together with Ethiopia, Eritrea and South Sudan; the latter country having sent their teams in all competitions this year.
With the absence of Kenya, Group B has three teams in Tanzania, Burundi and Djibouti
- Group A: Uganda, Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Sudan
- Group B: Tanzania, Burundi, Djibouti
