Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has called on his teammates to ensure they 'are on their toes' when they take on Aston Villa on Sunday evening.
The Old Trafford side will be hoping to bounce back from their 2-1 Europa League loss to Astana in midweek and pick a win that could see them move up as high as sixth on the standings.
United fought from two goals down to draw 3-3 last time out in the Premier League against Sheffield United, and they will be eager to pick maximum points.
“I think it’s going to be a tough game,” said Lindelof as quoted by the club's official website.
“They’re a team that works very hard and they’re towards the bottom of the league at the moment, so they fight for every point,"
“It’s going to be a very tough game and we have to be ready for that and be on our toes. Be ready from the start, play our game, play fast and hopefully we can make it very, very difficult and, of course, win those three points.” he added.
United will be buoyed by the fact that their visitors have only won once at Old Trafford in the Premier League era, but Lindelof does not want to take any chances.
“Yeah, well we all know there are no easy games in the Premier League. This is my third season in the Premier League and I know that, so it doesn’t matter if you play against the top teams or the ones at the bottom of the league, it’s always going to be a tough game,"
In the last three matches at home since the end of September, United have won twice, against Brighton and Partizan Belgrade, and drawn the other against Liverpool.
