Manchester City will host town rivals Manchester United on Saturday in the English Premier League in an eagerly anticipated clash.
Both sides warmed up for the tie with perfect wins in midweek, with Pep Guardiola's side seeing off Burnley 4-1 away while Ole Gunnar's charges beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1.
The Blue half of the divide has been arguably the best of the two, even though United seems to be making a significant improvement in recent matches.
It's no surprise then that the combined XI of the season so far is dominated by the defending champions.
Goalkeeper: David De Gea (Manchester United)
The Spaniard has not been at his best in recent months and has even lost his starting spot with Spain to Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Despite his struggles, he still remains one of the best in the Premier League, with perhaps Alisson Becker the only one ahead of him.
Ederson comes close too and has been outstanding for the defending champions, even though he has shipped a similar number of goals as the Spaniard; 17.
Right-back: Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Manchester United)
United's summer signing has been one of the shining lights for the Red Devils. He leads in tackles made in the Premier League, and he edges ahead of the likes of Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo for a starting role in the combined XI.
Center-back: Harry Maguire (Manchester United)
Another Manchester United signing. The England international has been a rock in the United's defence, providing leadership and helping build from the back.
He is a favourite ahead of the likes of Lindelof, Rojo, Bailly (who's out injured) and Otamendi in the City defence.
Another close call between Benjamin Mendy and Angelino, but the French international edges past the youngster, who has broken into the scene in recent matches.
Center-back: Fernandinho (Manchester City)
Fernandinho has been a revelation at the back, providing the much-needed cover following a number of injuries to the likes of John Stones.
City failed to replace Vincent Kompany, but Fernandinho's transition from midfield to the defence has been seamless to say the least and he partners Maguire.
Central Midfield: David Silva (Manchester City)
Silva beats his teammate in Bernado Silva to the starting role following his recent form. The Portuguese has not hit the levels he had last season but has also contributed to a number of goals for the defending champions.
Central midfield: Kevin De Bruyne
The Belgian started the season in spectacular fashion for Pep Guardiola's side and has had a direct hand in 13 goals in 14 league appearances.
His form has dipped in the last five or so matches, but he still edges ahead of a host of other midfielders in both clubs.
Central midfield: Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City)
This was a tight battle between Gundogan, Scott McTominay and Rodri, but the German has been consistent anytime he has been called on.
Rodri has shown flashes of his brilliance but is yet to fully settle in England with injuries disrupting his progress.
McTominay's importance for United cannot be underestimated, and he showed that against Tottenham in midweek.
Left-wing: Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)
The England international's red-hot form has become Manchester United's driving force this season. He has won the Red Devils a number of points, and his brace against Spurs in midweek was one of the highlight performances of the campaign.
Striker: Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)
It's a shame that the Argentine is out of the derby, but he has been phenomenal for the defending champions through the campaign.
His 10 strikes underline his importance for City, Who will miss his services against the Red Devils, whom he loves scoring against.
Right-wing: Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)
Sterling's season has been phenomenal, to say the least. He has scored eight goals in 14 league appearances so far this season, and Guardiola will be hoping he is at his best against Ole Gunnar's men.
He is a favourite ahead of the likes of United's Daniel James.
