Jurgen Klopp does not expect Georginio Wijnaldum to be fit for the Club World Cup after the midfielder hobbled off during Liverpool’s Premier League victory over Watford.
The Reds maintained their stunning run of form with a 2-0 win over bottom-placed Watford on Saturday, with a Mo Salah brace. The only cause for concern for Liverpool was seeing Wijnaldum hobble off in the second half of the Premier League clash to be replaced by Andy Robertson.
Asked about the midfielder’s injury after the 2-0 win, Klopp said: “I don’t know what’s wrong. Muscular [injury]. I have no idea [if he will be fit to play in the Club World Cup] but it doesn’t look like it.”
