Kieran Tierney’s injury struggles at Arsenal are set to continue after the club confirmed he is set to undergo surgery to deal with his shoulder.
During Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over West Ham – Freddie Ljungberg’s first win as interim head coach – Tierney left the field after just 29 minutes, holding his right arm in a makeshift sling. The Gunners initially reported that he had suffered a dislocated shoulder but had not decided whether the issue would require surgery.
But they have now said that Tierney will go under the knife to repair the damage to his right shoulder next week, before starting a period of rehabilitation that will last ‘around three months’.
Tierney arrived for £25million from Celtic in early August but had to wait until late September to make his debut after having a double hernia procedure in May.
