Ghana international Caleb Ekuban was on the scoresheet for Trabzonspor as they went on to secure a 4-1 victory over Altay in the Round of 16 of the Turkish Cup on Thursday night, Ghanasoccernet reported.
Ekuban scored his first goal for his side after he returned to action after being on the sidelines for two months with an injury.
Daniel Sturridge opened the scoreline for Trabzonspor in the 51st minute with a clinical finish.
Ekuban scored the second goal five minutes later with a powerful strike before feeding Sturridge with a beautiful pass to make it 3-0 in the 63rd minute.
Portuguese midfielder Ivanildo Fernandes made it 4-0 in the 71st minute before Altay grabbed scored their only goal through Marco Paixao in the 83rd minute.
Trabzonspor eventually won the match with a 6-1 aggregate scoreline after winning the first leg 2-1 a fortnight ago.
