Transfer Roundup: Arsenal will not let Mustafi leave

It's another day of the January transfer window and the fever is quite low in the market as we enter the third week.

While some players are completing their moves to a new club whether permanently or on loan, negotiations are still on-going for some others.

Futaa looks into the transfer market happenings of January 16.

Completed deal

Jack Clarke has joined QPR on loan from Tottenham Hotspur for the remainder of the 2019/20 football season.

West Ham midfielder Martin Samuelsen has agreed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Hull City, with the club holding the option of adding a further year.

The 22-year-old becomes Coach Grant McCann’s second signing of the January transfer window following Herbie Kane’s loan switch from Liverpool earlier this month. (Source - Hull City Tigers)

Not leaving

Shkodran Mustafi is set to be offered an Arsenal lifeline as Mikel Arteta has admitted it is unlikely he will be sold because of the injury crisis which has left him with a dearth of defensive options.

The growing injury list at the Emirates may now see Mustafi get more playing time after making just one Premier League appearance this season. (Source - Daily Mail)

Battle for signature

Tottenham and Arsenal are in loggerhead for the signature of Getafe centre-back Djene Dakonam.

Everton is also in the race for the 28-year-old Togo international who is valued at around £22million by the La Liga club after French side Monaco had a £12.8million offer dismissed. (Source - Daily Star)

Chelsea and Manchester United have both reportedly made contact with Edinson Cavani about a free transfer at the end of the season.

The striker - who turns 33 in February - is coming to the end of his Paris Saint-Germain deal, and has apparently agreed terms on a potential move to Atletico Madrid. (Source - Football London)

Assurance

Inter Milan has assured Manchester United defender Ashley Young they are still interested in him despite the impending arrival of Spinazzola.

Manchester United is still not open to selling Young due to the injuries to their squad, but the player has made it clear that he wants to leave. (Source - Futaa)
