Ole Gunnar Solskjaer criticised over Alexis Sanchez return comments

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has angered a section of the club fans after saying that Alexis Sanchez will be in his plans when he returns from his loan deal at Inter Milan.

Speaking about the club’s highest earner who has only just five times in 45 games, Solskjaer claimed that Sanchez can prove his critics wrong if he is given a second chance next season.

"Alexis will come back in the summer and will prove you all wrong," said the United boss said on Tuesday.

Solskjaer seems to have hit former Premier League goalkeeper Hislop who thinks the Norwegian words will antagonize United fans who are already frustrated over lack of proper investment in the team.

Speaking to ESPN, Hislop said: "Solskjaer for me has been less and less impressive in what he's had to say, despite hitting the right notes early on.

“With just a few days left of the transfer window there's not been much to report, and faced with that your response is to say: 'you just watch what's coming this summer' - the same player we've already had.

"For me, that doesn't make an awful lot of sense. It doesn't make sense for him, it doesn't make sense for Alexis Sanchez and certainly, if you are hopeful of seeing him sign for Inter Milan, it just isn't helpful to say."

United comes up against City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday already training in the first leg and another heavy loss might put Solskjaer future in jeopardy.
